Rivalry? Brazilians promise to support Norway in the World Cup

Norway knocked Brazil out of the World Cup, after a 2-1 victory in the round of 16, but that didn't mean the Viking team won the dislike of Brazilian fans.

Despite some criticism from more emotional fans, several Brazilians praised the Norwegian team's stance on social media and even made a special request to Haaland & Co.

"If they eliminate Argentina, they're forgiven," joked a fan on Haaland's official profile. "Now, you need to beat Argentina, Haaland", reinforced another internet user.

Even with the sadness of Brazil leaving the World Cup so early, the performance and football presented by the Europeans against Vini Jr & Co. filled the eyes of the fans here.

"How can I not support Norway now, after they played competent football? My respect goes to this man (Haaland) who did a lot in this game. The truth needs to be told", analyzed a fan.

With qualification, Norway will face England in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup. If they advance, they can face the Argentines in the semifinals. Messi's team faces Egypt in the next phase.
