Reporter goes live to take photo with Shakira at the opening of the World Cup
A scene just hours before the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup had repercussions on social media. During the morning of this Thursday (11), Argentine reporter Marcelo Benedetto interrupted a live broadcast to take a photo with Colombian singer Shakira.
Covering the competition for DSPORTS, he talked about the preparations for the opening shows. The moment he saw the artist leaving the lawn, he excused himself and left the live stream to take a photo with Shakira.
The moment was shown by the broadcaster itself, which shows Benedetto crossing an area of the field to get the record. Soon, the scene started to have repercussions on the social network X.
Shakira was one of the names that performed at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup before the opening game between Mexico and South Africa.
At the show, Shakira joined Burna Boy to sing "Dai Dai", a partnership between the two made exclusively for the World Cup.
