Renato Gaúcho vents after insults during Vasco's defeat in the Brasileirão
The defeat suffered by Vasco against RB Bragantino in São Januário, in Series A of the Brazilian Championship, generated outrage among the fans. And coach Renato Gaúcho was the main target of fury after the setback.
The protests were so big that the coach was cursed and hit by glasses thrown in his direction. At the end of the duel, he did not comply with the protocol of holding a press conference and was replaced by the football director, Admar Lopes, and midfielder Thiago Mendes.
The coach used his social networks this Monday (25) to speak out about what happened.
"It was a regrettable night. Nothing went as planned and unfortunately we lost a game at home that could have put us in a better position in the table. Now we have to keep working and focus on qualifying on Wednesday in the South American Championship. After that, we will think about the game on Sunday, at home, in the Brazilian Championship", he lamented.
Renato Gaúcho will not be fired by Vasco management. The club still maintains confidence - at least until the World Cup - in the coach's work. There are two games left until the break.
