Renan Santos rejects the Electoral Fund and wants to finance a campaign with a crowdfunding
The coordination of Renan Santos' (Mission) campaign for the Presidency of the Republic chose not to use the value of the Electoral Fund allocated to the party, based only on values from donors and so-called online "fundraisers".
To CNN, Amanda Vettorazzo - São Paulo councilor and campaign coordinator - stated that the R$ 3 million distributed by order of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) will be used by the other Mission for Brazil candidacies, with the aim of electing the minimum number of federal deputies to overcome the barrier clause and position the party with more relevance on the national scene.
Unlike the Party Fund, intended for acronyms to cover operational expenses, the Electoral Fund - which in 2026 approached R$5 billion - serves to finance candidates' campaigns in the way that the party leadership defines.
"We are not going to use the R$3 million fund, which goes to other candidacies. We are basically going to use money from donations and crowdfunding, which currently amounts to around R$1 million, which is definitely lower than that of other candidates", said Amanda.
The distribution released by the TSE considers the number of deputies and senators elected by each party in the 2022 elections.
With the largest group in the Chamber elected in the last election, the PL (Liberal Party) - Flávio Bolsonaro's party - will receive R$881.7 million. The second largest amount, R$ 615.4 million, will be directed to the PT (Workers' Party) - party of current president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The Missão party, having only been approved by the court at the end of 2025, will receive the minimum amount of R$ 3,307,679.85.
When asked if there would be a possibility for the party to associate with other parties to acquire more TV time during the campaign and a larger share of the Electoral Fund, Amanda stated that "it must be very difficult".
"We will certainly have candidates in all states. I think it's a very difficult coalition. We want someone who is committed to our ideals, to the virtues of the Yellow Book. We don't want to submit to someone with another project", added the councilor.
Regarding Renan Santos' travel schedule, she assured that the presidential candidate will visit all Brazilian regions by the end of July, a few days before the official campaign begins: "A real campaign is like this, going to the most distant places and showing proposals. It's easy to talk in an air-conditioned room."
Master Case
Regarding the developments in the fraud investigation involving Banco Master, Renan's campaign says that the issue is not seen with "bad eyes", see the wear and tear that new revelations have caused to Lula and Flávio's campaigns.
The most recent chapter concerns the departure of Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA) - Lula's long-time political companion - from the position of government leader in the Senate, after a PF (Federal Police) operation looked into the senator's connections with Augusto Lima, Daniel Vorcaro's partner.
The impact of the investigation into an exponent of Lulism in Bahia will still be measured by research, but, for the Missão party campaign, it is another chapter that "validates the truth about the integrity of the candidates".
"This news only proves that we were right. The MBL, together with Renan, mobilized the first demonstration in SP against ministers of the Supreme Court and about the Banco Master case, when no one was talking about it. These stories show that both Lula's left and Flávio's false right are involved in things that we consider wrong", said Amanda Vettorazzo.
