Relief for Corinthians and Vasco under pressure: summary of Brasileirão day

The day of competition for the Brazilian Championship this Sunday (24) was marked by four matches, valid for the 17th round, which excited fans across the country.

In the fight against relegation, Corinthians and Cruzeiro overcame their respective opponents and opened up an advantage over Z4.

Already at the top of the table, Athletico-PR won another victory and entered the G4, while Red Bull Bragantino beat Vasco.

Vasco hosted Red Bull Bragantino wanting to win in São Januário, to move away from the relegation zone, but ended up losing 3-0, with Rodriguinho, Isidro Pitta and Fernando scoring the visiting goals.

The result didn't end in a rout because Eduardo Sasha wasted a penalty at the end of the match. The result puts pressure on the hosts, who have 20 points, ahead only of the Z4 members, in addition to being in a delicate situation in the group stage of the South American Championship.

Cruzeiro x Chapecoense
At Mineirão, Cruzeiro did their homework and beat Chapecoense 2-1. Kaio Jorge, with a penalty, opened the scoring. Luis Sinisterra, who hadn't scored since November last year, scored Raposa's second goal.
