The reformulation of Flávio Bolsonaro's (PL-RJ) pre-campaign team was positively evaluated by consultant and political strategist Felipe Soutello, in an interview with CNN 360º. According to him, the change represents an important reinforcement and should improve the quality of the work carried out by the pre-candidacy for the Presidency.

The need for renewal became evident, in Soutello's assessment, after the way the previous team dealt with the crisis generated by the revelation of messages exchanged between Flávio Bolsonaro and former banker Daniel Vorcaro. "The reaction, the crisis management of the issue showed quite a great lack of preparation", stated the strategist. He added that there was, apparently, an expectation that that content would never be made public.

New names on the team

Among the hires highlighted by Soutello are journalist Fábio Portela and Alexandre Oltramari, described by him as "professionals of the highest caliber, with a lot of experience". Regarding Eduardo Fischer, also mentioned as part of the reformulation, the strategist said he knew him by name as a long-time advertising professional, but considered that he was not aware of his significant performance specifically in the field of political marketing.

Soutello highlighted that, in today's digital world, traceability makes it even more difficult to keep secrets. "With the digital world, with traceability, with Pix, this whole universe that we are living in, the leg is even shorter", he said, in reference to the popular saying about lies. For him, the team's new configuration should yield gains in the pre-campaign.

Federal government communication
Also asked about the federal government's communication structure with a view to re-election, Soutello assessed that it "has been improving". The strategist highlighted changes in the aesthetic standard and Lula's (PT) approach to the population as positive points. "President Lula's great value is that he has the ability to feel the population's pain," he said. He also cited the approval of reducing the working day from five to two days as a measure with a potential positive impact. On the other hand, he considered that the international crisis and the high cost of living represent factors beyond the government's control that could complicate the electoral scenario.
