Right-back João Vitor, better known as Jacaré, returned to play for Corinthians' under-20 team after almost two months away due to a thigh injury. Recovered from the physical problem suffered in April, the defender took to the field in the 1-0 victory over Sertãozinho, last Sunday, in the Brazilian Championship of the category.
Starting the match on the bench, the full-back was called on by coach William Batista at the beginning of the second half. In the 22nd minute, he participated in one of the main plays of the match when he advanced forward and suffered a foul that resulted in the expulsion of an opposing defender, helping Timãozinho manage the advantage until the final whistle.

With the triumph over Sertãozinho, Corinthians reached ten points and took second place in Group 1 of the competition. The next commitment of the team led by William Batista will be this Wednesday (8), against Palmeiras, in Fazendinha, in the quarter-finals of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship.
During the recovery period, João Vitor was left out of seven Timão under-20 games in the Brazilian Championship. In the absence of the full-back, Pellegrin assumed the starting role in most of the matches.
In the professional
Since last year, João Vitor has alternated between the professional squad and the under-20 team. For the main team, the full-back has played three games, the most recent being the debut of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista, when Corinthians beat Ponte Preta 3-0.
