Rebeca Andrade has a set date to return to gymnastics; see when it will be

The main name in gymnastics in Brazil and one of the best in the world, Rebeca Andrade announced this Saturday (23) that she is returning to competitions. She will represent Brazil at the Pan-American Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rio de Janeiro, in June.

The competition will take place between the 17th and 21st of June in the capital of Rio de Janeiro and will be the first with Rebeca since September 2024, when she participated in the Brazilian Championship.

The tournament in Rio marks the beginning of the race for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, as it qualifies five women's teams for the World Cup in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the first LA28 qualifying competition.

Olympic multi-medallist, including winning gold in Paris 2024, Rebeca had taken a "sabbatical year" to recover physically and mentally.

Next week, the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG) will publish the complete call for the team that will participate in the Pan. In addition to Rebeca, five other gymnasts will be called. As she recently returned to training, the Olympic champion can only be used as a reserve for Team Brazil in the competition.
