'Real motherhood': behind the scenes and Rafa Kalimann and Nattan's outbursts about their daughter's arrival

Rafa Kalimann talks about the controversies of the documentary about royal motherhood
The premiere of the documentary series "Tempo para Amar", on GNT and Globoplay, brought to the public the real and unfiltered behind-the-scenes of Zuza's pregnancy, daughter of influencer Rafa Kalimann and singer Nattan. Conceived from personal records that began to be made even before the baby was born, the production generated debate on social media by exposing the couple's different views on the period of coexistence and preparation for motherhood.
The production follows the intimacy of the couple, who decided to have a child just a few weeks into their relationship. "We've been together for just over a year. We decided a few weeks ago that we were together, we said: 'let's have a baby'", says Rafa.
The influencer, who has been diagnosed with depression for six years and faced a pregnancy loss in 2024, during a previous relationship, details the emotional weight of the period. "It was a very peaceful pregnancy, physically. Emotionally, it was a lot of struggle. I'm taking medication, right? The antidepressant. Six years ago. Six years, I was diagnosed. But it deepened more in 2024, when I had a pregnancy loss", he says.
Even with structural and financial support, the feeling of loneliness during the ninth month of pregnancy became one of the central points of the first episodes. "I could have a lot of people around me and I felt very alone. I have a lot of difficulty asking for help. I have a lot of difficulty verbalizing it. 'I need help, I feel alone'", says the influencer.
The differences in the transition time to fatherhood are also exposed in Nattan's statements, who reports his initial difficulty in understanding his partner's demands amid an intense routine of presentations. "Sometimes I was here at home, just for example, she was cooking and sometimes I was here on the sofa, lying down. She said: 'I want you to be even closer to me, I'm feeling alone'. And I didn't understand, my God, how is she alone if I'm here at home with her?", says the singer. friends in Gramado (RS). "So he started running away from everything that could bring him here and to this reality that wasn't cool", points out Rafa. Nattan recognizes the conflict: "And Rafaela told me a lot: 'Nattan, I need you closer here'. My friends came from the countryside with me. I never had a party, nothing with them. And I went to do a show in Porto Alegre. It was my dream to also take them to see Gramado. I spoke to her. At the time, it seems like the teacher arrives like this and says: 'oh, here's the answer sheet for you' and it seems like you marked everything wrong. And because I was also understanding as it all was, it was all very new to me."
Rafa highlights the strain of needing to demand the presence of the partner in the final period of pregnancy. "So, what's the point? There comes a time when you don't want to say the obvious anymore. I'm in the ninth month of pregnancy and once again I have to ask you to be at home with me. We were in the same house. He was just being like he always was. And I expected a little more, but I also couldn't ask him or tell him what I expected from him."
Partnership and maturing of the relationship
Despite the disagreements displayed, the influencer denies that there was helplessness on the singer's part and defends the importance of exposing the normal conflicts of a relationship. "Yes, I wanted him there. It was once, we talked about it and the pagoda didn't happen again. I think this is the construction of this relationship. Because the pagoda didn't bother me before. Going to the pagoda before didn't bother me. Here with my friends, other events happened, and it didn't bother me. That was the natural way we were used to living within our agreements. Then, pregnancy comes and it changes a lot of things, it changes a lot of scenarios", explains Rafa.
For her, the discussion brought to the documentary reflects a reality common to many couples. "I haven't yet found in any of the reports I've read, in the conversations I've had, a man who hasn't exactly gone through this process of having a much longer time than the woman for the penny to drop in relation to motherhood."
"And that's why I brought this conversation to the documentary, is that they need to understand, from the positive, that they are also already parents. I never said that I was emotionally abandoned. It wasn't even close to that."
"Our case has a lot of complicity, there's a lot of exchange, there's a lot of conversation and there's also a lot of conflict, because we are a real couple. But we are very strengthened as a couple, more than ever", he concludes.
The first two episodes of "Tempo para Amar" are available on the Globoplay platform, and the final two chapters will be released in the coming weeks.
