Rarity: "Corujinha" Kombis are found among the trash in São Paulo

Two "Little Owls" Kombis were found among the trash in the city of Guarulhos, in São Paulo. The Kombis are from 1975 and were in the home of a hoarder.

The Kombis were found in poor condition after a complaint to Guarulhos city hall. When they got there, they discovered that the rarities were covered in trash.

The story was initially posted on the page of influencer Guilherme Gomes (specialized in cleaning places completely full of rubbish) and ajrevival (page for classic cars and rarities), run by Jaime Morais.

In addition to the Kombis, two Beetles and a Volkswagen Gol were also found. One of the Beetles was even used as a bedroom for Anita, a 73-year-old woman who lived there, alongside her son, who is a person with a disability (PwD).

More than 50 tons of rubbish were removed from the site and 29 compactor rubbish trucks were used. It took 6 days of work to remove the rubbish.

Action for renovation
The Kombis are being evaluated to understand whether it is possible to restore them. If allowed, they will be restored and auctioned to help with the renovation of the lady's house. According to Jaime Morais, the page is looking for partners to help with the renovation of "Owls".

According to him, this type of renovation usually lasts two years. "The story touched a lot of people and we decided to come together to help. We're going to try to carry out the reform in five or six months, in a task force," said Morais. The goal is to be able to auction as soon as possible.
