Quaest: 47% agree more with Lula on new pricing; 35%, with Flávio

Genial/Quaest survey released this Wednesday (10) indicates that 47% of Brazilian voters agree with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) when he says that Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) asked Donald Trump to impose new economic tariffs against Brazil.

35% already agree with the senator, who states that, on his visit to the United States, he asked Trump not to tax the country. Another 18% did not know or did not answer the question.

The narrative dispute began shortly after the USTR (United States Trade Representative) proposed the imposition of 25% tariffs on Brazilian imports to the United States.

Lula and the PT argue that Flávio Bolsonaro had articulated the tariff with Trump on his visit to the country. On social media, the party even used the term "Tariflávio" to accuse the senator.

On the other side, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) defends himself by saying that he "expressly" asked the US not to tax Brazilian companies and proposed to negotiate with the American government.

Methodology
Genial/Quaest interviewed 2,004 voters, between the 5th and 8th of June, through face-to-face interviews. The survey's margin of error is two percentage points, plus or minus, with a 95% confidence interval.

The research was contracted by Banco Genial and is registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) under protocol BR-07661/2026.
