Qatar announces the 26 squad for the World Cup with two "Brazilians"

Host of the last edition, Qatar released this Monday (1st) the list of 26 players who will represent the country in the second consecutive World Cup. Among the players, two are Brazilian.

Revealed by Coritiba and with a spell at Olympique de Marseille-FRA, defender Lucas Mendes, who has played in Qatar since 2014, became naturalized in 2023 and will represent the country in the 2026 World Cup.

Another name on Qatar's list that also has a connection with Brazil is striker Edmílson Júnior, son of a Brazilian, but born in Belgium. He has been working for Al-Duhail since 2018.

Qatar is going to its second participation in the World Cup, the first having to go through the repechage. The team's biggest highlight continues to be striker Afif. See here
