Prouni: registration for the 2nd semester begins this Tuesday (7)
The MEC (Ministry of Education) published last Wednesday (1) a notice for Prouni (University for All Program), which takes place in the second half of 2026. Candidates can register for free, exclusively through the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education, between the 7th and 10th of July 2026.
Some requirements are necessary for registration: the student must have completed high school and participated in the 2024 or 2025 editions of Enem (National High School Exam). It is also necessary to have obtained at least 450 points on the average of the five tests that make up the exam and not to have completed the essay at zero.
In addition, the notice does not allow the registration of candidates who have taken the exam as trainers.
As it is a scholarship program, candidates must meet specific socioeconomic criteria to compete for scholarships aimed at higher education. Check the application conditions below:
- Have completed high school entirely at a public school;
- Have completed high school entirely at a private institution as a full scholarship holder of the respective institution;
- Have completed high school partially at a public school and partially at a private institution as a full scholarship holder at the respective institution; full secondary education at a private institution as a partial scholarship holder from the respective institution or without the scholarship status;
- Being a person with a disability, as provided for in the legislation;
- Being a teacher in the public education network, exclusively to compete for teaching and teaching courses aimed at training basic education teachers. In the latter case, the income limit required for other candidates is not applied.
To receive full scholarships, which cover 100% of the course's monthly fee, gross monthly family income cannot exceed 1.5 minimum wages. For partial scholarships, which cover 50% of the value, the income must be up to three minimum wages. The income limits do not apply to teachers in the public basic education network, as long as they compete for scholarships offered for teaching and teaching courses.
The result of the first call will be announced on July 15th, on the Prouni page. Those selected in the first call need to prove information between the 15th and 24th of July. The program also has a waiting list: the candidate must express their interest through the Single Access Portal on August 26th and 27th, 2026.
