Prosecutors drop rape charge against Harvey Weinstein after mistrial

New York prosecutors decided to drop one of the rape charges against Harvey Weinstein after the judge declared a mistrial in that specific case. The decision was made after the jury was unable to reach a consensus on one of the charges brought during the former Hollywood producer's retrial. Due to the lack of unanimity, the process was closed in relation to this complaint. Although this charge was dropped, Weinstein continues to face and serve sentences related to other sexual crimes for which he has already been found guilty in different cases in the United States.
