Profile of "The Secret Agent" laments the death of the creator of "Perna Perna Peluda"
The official page for the film "The Secret Agent" lamented, on the afternoon of this Tuesday (16), the death of the author of the legend of "Perna Cabeluda", Raimundo Carrero from Pernambuco.
"Among so many contributions, he also helped immortalize the legend of Perna Cabeluda. Thank you, Raimundo, for the tireless defense of literature as a way of understanding the world. Our hug to family, friends and the many readers who will continue to find their voice in each book", they wrote.
The publication, which was shared in collaboration with the film's director Kleber Mendonça Filho, 57, reinforced the importance of Carrero's contributions as a "writer, journalist and teacher, who spent more than five decades writing, teaching and training other writers".
According to an official statement shared by Raimundo's family, he passed away at the age of 78 due to complications from cancer. The writer's funeral will be open to the public and the family will release more information "at an appropriate time".

The legend of "Perna Cabeluda" and "The Secret Agent"
Set in Recife during the time of the Brazilian Military Dictatorship, Kleber's script has several real references to the period, including the censorship of articles in the newspapers with absurd recipes or stories.
To add veracity, at one point, the production included one of the folk legends that most haunted the Recife public in the 1970s: the hairy leg. According to records at the time, the severed limb haunted the residents of the village of 500 residents of Usina Tiúma, in São Lourenço da Mata.
After the first "appearance" in the house of Mr. José Luis Borges and frightening his family, the legend began to be seen by several neighbors in the region, causing fear in many. Although his authorship is diverse and little confirmed, in 1976, Carrero was one of the first to write in his detective novel column a chronicle of a hairy leg attack in Olinda.
In the story, the leg had attacked a woman inside her own home and left the victim in agony. It was during this period that a delegation was formed to hunt down the element that was a danger to the residents.
Although the existence of the folkloric character has never been confirmed, his narrative is one of the best known in the state and continues to haunt many citizens.
