This Tuesday (2), Corinthians officially announced the return of Dr. Paula Benayon, who will join the Health and Performance Center Department of the women's team. The health professional begins her activities from this Wednesday (3), after the departure of Vanessa Melo, who said goodbye to the club last Monday (1). She has been part of the medical department since October 2025.

The doctor had already worked at Parque São Jorge between 2017 and 2022. In the first three years, she was part of the swimming sector. From 2020, she became part of the women's department, where she remained until 2022. Timão announced the professional's return through an official note: "Sport Club Corinthians Paulista informs that, following the departure of Dr. Vanessa Melo, Dr. Paula Benayon will join, from this Wednesday (3), the Health and Performance Center of the Corinthians women's team."

Paula Benayon was also a member of the Brazilian Women's Team between 2015 and 2023. The doctor worked on the youth teams - Under-17/20 - and professional teams, having been part of the Women's World Cup delegation in 2023. In terms of academics, she has diplomas from the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and, since 2022, she has played an important role in the COB Olympic Laboratory (Committee Brazilian Olympic).

This season, Corinthians has been facing problems with some athletes in the medical department. Defenders Agustina Barroso (muscle injury in her left leg) and Thaís Regina (currently undergoing physical transition) have not yet taken the field in the 2026 season due to physical issues. In addition to them, Gi Fernandes (muscle strain in the right glute), goalkeeper Rillary (physical transition) and midfielder Juliana Passari (physical transition) are also out of action.

Emily Lima's men, it's worth remembering, will officially return to the pitch the week of July 17th, at home, against Ferroviária, in a classic for the fourth round of the classification phase of the 2026 Women's Paulista Championship.
