Prisoner breaks cell phone during Civil Police operation in Belford Roxo (RJ)

One of those arrested during a Civil Police operation carried out this Tuesday (16) in Belford Roxo, in Baixada Fluminense, broke his own cell phone during the approach, according to the agents. According to the corporation, the aim would be to make access to possible evidence stored on the device more difficult.

The action focuses on executing arrest warrants against suspects involved in drug trafficking in the communities of Santa Tereza, Redentor and Jardim Glauce, which form the Guacha Complex. To date, six people have been arrested and 19 stolen motorcycles have been recovered.

The operation is coordinated by the DRE-BF (Drug Suppression Police Station of Baixada Fluminense) and has the support of teams from the DGPE (General Department of Specialized Police) (DGPE) and Core (Special Resources Coordination).

According to investigations, drug traffickers linked to the TCP (Terceiro Comando Puro) and CV (Comando Vermelho) factions compete for control of drug sales points in the region. The Civil Police reported that it collected intelligence data, monitored targets and mapped the functions performed by members of criminal organizations before launching the operation.

Efforts are ongoing to execute warrants and identify others involved in the activities under investigation.
