President of Paraguay declares holiday after victory against Germany in the World Cup
The president of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, stated that he will declare a holiday this Tuesday (30), after the victory of the country's team to eliminate Germany on penalties and guarantee qualification for the round of 16 at the World Cup.
"Paraguay never surrenders! 'Carajo' holiday!", wrote the Paraguayan president on the social network X, after the country prevailed in penalties by 4 to 3.

The country's government confirmed that a decree making the holiday official will be published.
The president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, also declared a national holiday last Friday (26), after the country's football team reached the knockout stage of the World Cup with a surprising 2-1 victory over Germany.
