President of Colombia asks Trump to lift US sanctions against him
Despite the differences with Petro, Colombia was not among the countries most affected by Trump's tariffs

Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who is leaving office, spoke by telephone on Friday (3) with US President Donald Trump, the Colombian Presidency reported.
According to the statement, the two discussed the eradication of coca cultivation, used to produce cocaine.
Petro also requested that the US sanctions against him are lifted, and Trump said he would 'do everything possible", added the Colombian Presidency.
