The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) lamented, on Wednesday night (10), the death of a fan who was preparing to watch the friendly between Portugal and Nigeria, in Leiria.

According to the statement released by the FPF, the fan suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest before the start of the match at the Estádio Doutor Magalhães Pessoa.

Despite the rapid intervention of the medical emergency resources present in the premises, the death would end up being declared in the hospital.

"At this moment of enormous pain and regret, the Portuguese Football Federation and the National Team join in the consternation of this fan's family and friends", says the FPF note.
