Police seize car used in attack on Rota lieutenant
The São Paulo Civil Police located and seized, in the early hours of this Wednesday (1st), a vehicle that had allegedly been used by criminals in the attempted murder of Rota (Rondas Ostensivas Tobias de Aguiar) lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos, aged 39.
According to the SSP (Public Security Secretariat), the joint work of the Military and Civil Police found the car, a white Logan model, late on Tuesday night (30), in Guaianases, in the east zone of the capital of São Paulo.
The vehicle was parked in a field and covered by a gray cover, which ended up attracting the attention of the agents. As they approached, the police verified, by checking the license plate, that it was the same car used in logistical support for the crime.
The attack occurred last Saturday morning (27), in São Caetano do Sul, in Greater São Paulo.
The Civil Police have already identified the man responsible for carrying out the shooting. As confirmed by the Secretary of Public Security, Osvaldo Nico Gonçalves, the suspect already has several police records.
In addition to identifying the executor, the police have kept two men aged 40 and 52 in prison since last Sunday (28). They were also detained in the Guaianases region and are accused of providing logistical and transport support, escorting the motorcycle used in the attack with support vehicles.
The authorities, who are investigating the involvement of the criminal faction PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) in coordinating the attack, are continuing with the investigations.
Health status
Lieutenant Pimentel remains hospitalized in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of the Mário Covas State Hospital, in Santo André, in ABC Paulista.
The officer is the older brother of Eloá Pimentel, a 15-year-old girl who was murdered in 2008 by her ex-boyfriend after a false imprisonment that caused great national commotion.
Despite the extreme severity of the head injury, the latest medical report indicated that the officer had presented positive neurological developments in recent days.
He responded satisfactorily to treatments, showing improvement in cerebral edema, reduced need for medication to control blood pressure and remains fever-free.
