Police seize 200,000 counterfeit World Cup album stickers in RJ
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police seized, on Thursday night (21), 200,000 counterfeit stickers from the 2026 World Cup album in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense.
In addition to the stickers, the police also collected thousands of illicitly produced t-shirts and caps from the Brazilian team.
The agents located a group that was leaving with illegal cargo from Nova Iguaçu destined for other municipalities in Rio, probably for sale. According to the police, the seized material will be rendered useless after undergoing forensic examination.
The investigations were conducted by the Office for the Suppression of Crimes Against Intangible Property and continue to identify manufacturers and distributors of counterfeit merchandise.
