Police indict man suspected of ill-treatment and rape of stepdaughter

The Civil Police of Mato Grosso indicted, this Friday (22), a man for the crimes of rape of a vulnerable person, on an ongoing basis, and mistreatment of children and adolescents. The mother was also indicted for the same crimes in the form of improper omission, she would not have acted to protect her children.

In addition to sexual crimes against his stepdaughter, from when she was a child until she is now 19 years old, the person being investigated also committed serious violations against the other children in the family.

The court has already granted urgent protective measures, prohibiting any contact between the suspects and the victims.

According to the police, the eldest daughter, aged 19, suffered sexual abuse, including rape, committed by her stepfather since she was four years old. Violations would occur continuously, with threats, intimidation and physical attacks.

The man would also commit serious offenses against his other children, including two children diagnosed with non-verbal Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), aged 6 and 11.

The investigations also showed that the children lived in a severe situation of neglect, with food deprivation, lack of basic medicines, recurrent physical attacks and extreme unsanitary conditions inside the residence.

At the beginning of the investigation, the suspect was arrested in the act for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Firearms, ammunition of various calibers and weapons kept in an easily accessible location were seized in his home.

The suspect was released after the custody hearing for weapons-related crimes, but the Police indicted him for crimes of a sexual nature and domestic violence.
