Police carry out investigation at the site where a boy was shot dead in Pavuna, in Rio
Agents from the Capital Homicide Police Station carried out, on the afternoon of this Tuesday (2), an investigation at the place where the boy Bento Costa Petillo Bezze, aged 12, was shot in the chest and killed while playing on the court of the condominium where he lived, in Pavuna, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the police, the analysis was carried out at the Green House Condominium, in the Quitanda Community, where Bento was hit during a confrontation between drug dealers from rival factions last Sunday (31).
According to the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro, when agents arrived at the scene, the boy had already been rescued and taken to Hospital Santa Teresinha, in São João de Meriti, Baixada Fluminense.
Despite medical care, Bento did not survive his injuries. Family members claim that the child was shot during an intense exchange of gunfire involving criminals from the communities of Chapadão and Quitanda.
Residents reported moments of panic during the confrontation and said they had to take shelter indoors to escape the gunfire.
The Civil Police reported that the incident was initially registered at the 39th DP (Pavuna) and that the investigations will be carried out by the DHC (Capital Homicide Police Station).
According to the corporation, agents carry out investigations to investigate the circumstances of the case and identify those responsible.
