Police arrest suspects of stealing items from England, says newspaper

Kansas City police arrested two suspects involved in the theft of equipment from the England team, which is preparing for the World Cup in the United States. The information was released this Saturday (13) by the English newspaper The Mirror.

According to local authorities, the suspects remain in detention while the case undergoes further investigations. A police spokesperson confirmed the arrests, but did not reveal additional details about the criminal action.

The stolen materials were in a van that was traveling from West Palm Beach, Florida, to the Swope Soccer Village, in Missouri, the location that will serve as the English delegation's base in the coming weeks. Among the items taken were football boots, official World Cup balls and equipment used in team training.

According to the English press, much of the material has already been recovered by the North American authorities. The English Football Association has not officially commented on the case.

England is in Group L of the World Cup alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama. The debut of the team led by Harry Kane will take place next Wednesday (17), against Croatia, in Dallas, at 5pm (Brasília time).
