Player has stolen passport and could miss the start of the World Cup

Saud Abdulhamid, full-back for Lens and Saudi Arabia, will have problems presenting himself for the World Cup. The 26-year-old player was robbed while he was in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, for his wedding.

The Saudi Football Federation issued a statement this Monday (25) to explain Saud's delay in presenting for the 2026 World Cup. Abdulhamid had a flight scheduled for today, but the robbery ended up changing his plans.

"Saud Abdulhamid lost his personal belongings, including his passport. The Saudi Football Federation, in coordination with the Ministry of Sports, is following the investigation into the incident and is also in contact with the Embassy of the Netherlands to obtain the necessary documents and for him to join the team", the entity clarified.

Saud Abdulhamid is one of the few Saudi players who play in Europe. He belongs to Roma, but was loaned to Lens this season, where he played 31 games, provided seven assists and scored three goals.
