PL decides to launch Flávio Bolsonaro's candidacy at the end of July in SP

The PL (Liberal Party) intends to formalize Flávio Bolsonaro's candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic at a national convention on July 25th, in São Paulo.

CNN found that the definition of the party takes into account the size of the electoral college in the capital of São Paulo and the strength of its platform in the state.

Flávio will have at his side governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), who is running for re-election; the current president of Alesp (Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo), André do Prado (PL), and federal deputy Guilherme Derrite (PP-SP). The two parliamentarians will run for the Senate in this year's elections.

Party members and people close to the campaign believe that this is one of the strongest state platforms formed by the party of former president Jair Bolsonaro's son (PL).

This is the first time that the party has chosen São Paulo for candidacy official events. In previous elections, such as the one in which Bolsonaro was thrown into the Planalto, the conventions were held in Rio de Janeiro.

The TSE (Superior Electoral Court) has set a deadline of between July 20th and August 5th for party conventions to be held for all those who want to run as candidates in this year's contest.
