Pizzeria in SP is investigated in operation that arrested Deolane Bezerra
Pizzeria Chatubão, located in the Cambuci neighborhood, in the central region of São Paulo, became part of the center of Operation Vérnix investigations, which also resulted in the arrest of influencer and lawyer Deolane Bezerra, last Thursday (21).
According to investigation reports, the company presents a series of financial and operational inconsistencies considered compatible with structures used for money laundering and asset concealment.
The investigations are still ongoing and the allegations must be analyzed by the Court, with the right to full defense.
Opened on July 3, 2014, the pizzeria had two partners, each with a 50% stake in the company. One of them died in April 2020 and had a record related to the Drug Law. Despite acting formally, no records of employees linked to the establishment were identified throughout the period analyzed.
Investigations show that, between January 2018 and July 2022, Pizzeria Chatubão generated R$566,559.27. However, of this total, R$537,517.72, equivalent to 94.87% of transactions, had an unidentified origin.
In 2018, for example, the survey shows that the amount was just R$0.04 in transactions on the card, throughout the year. Until July 2019, the total reached just R$58.35.
In-kind deposits were also considered atypical. According to bank statements, the pizzeria received only R$2,120.00 in cash, all without CPF or CNPJ identification.
The police point out that this and other companies under investigation were part of a network used to fragment values and give the appearance of legality to financial operations supposedly linked to the PCC.

How it all started
According to authorities, the operation is the result of an investigation that began in 2019, after the seizure of notes and manuscripts inside Penitentiary II of Presidente Venceslau.
The material would have revealed information about the internal dynamics of the faction, contacts between members and possible plans against public agents, leading to the opening of successive police investigations.
The first phase focused on detainees found with the documents. According to the investigative material, the analysis of the manuscripts indicated references to leaders of the criminal organization and brought mention of a figure described as "the woman from the transport company", who would have helped in gathering information about public servants.
The convicts were later sent to the federal penitentiary system.

"The technical defense of lawyer Dr. Deolane Bezerra Santos comes, with the utmost respect to the institutions of the Justice System and the Democratic Rule of Law, to provide the necessary clarifications on the events that resulted in her preventive arrest on today's date, 05/21/2026. Initially, we emphasize her most absolute innocence, as well as that the facts will be duly clarified by this defense at an opportune moment. For now, and with due respect, we consider The measures signed against Deolane are disproportionate, and this defense panel will continue to cooperate technically with the Court to demonstrate the lawfulness of its activities as a lawyer, fully trusting in the discernment, reasonableness and impartiality of the Judiciary."
