The Philadelphia 76ers remain active in the NBA market and are now trying to sign LeBron James, according to American media. The star, the greatest scorer in the history of the league, became an unrestricted free agent after informing the Los Angeles Lakers that he will play for another team next season.

According to ESPN in the United States, the 76ers are competing to sign LeBron with three other candidates: the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors. According to the publication, the player is in no rush to define his future.

The attack is part of the Philadelphia franchise's roster overhaul. This week, the 76ers agreed to sign point guard Anfernee Simons and also completed a trade to acquire forward Jaylen Brown, former MVP of the NBA Finals.

Under the deal, Philadelphia will send Paul George, two first-round draft picks (2028 and 2031) and two second-round draft picks (2028 and 2030) to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Brown.

The negotiation cannot yet be made official and should only be announced next Monday, according to NBA rules.
