The Federal Police signaled interest in moving forward in plea negotiations with the former president of BRB, Paulo Henrique Costa, after the corporation and the PGR (Attorney General's Office) vetoed the second collaboration proposal from former banker Daniel Vorcaro.

The defense of the former head of the capital's financial institution negotiates the signing of the confidentiality agreement, the first step towards the subsequent formalization of the proposal. The document guarantees confidentiality of conversations and establishes that information provided cannot be used against the person being investigated if the agreement is not reached.

Like the PF, the PGR (Attorney General's Office) had preliminary conversations with Paulo Henrique, but did not consider the initial reports sufficient to close an agreement.

Paulo Henrique has been in prison since April 16 following a decision by the rapporteur, Minister André Mendonça, which was confirmed by the Second Panel of the STF (Supreme Federal Court). He is accused of negotiating the receipt of R$140 million in luxury properties as a form of bribe to facilitate the purchase of Master by BRB.

The Bank of Brasília is experiencing serious financial difficulties arising from the negotiation of the Master and has not yet presented the institution's financial statement, which should have been presented on March 31.

After being detained, Paulo Henrique was transferred to the Papuda Penitentiary Complex, where he was housed in a larger and more comfortable space, which was interpreted at the time as an indication of progress in the negotiation process for a plea bargain.

However, the PF had no longer signaled progress with the collaboration. Recently, the defense of the former head of BRB sent another letter questioning the Federal Police about the agreement and, now, received a favorable response in response.
