PF operation targets illegal purchase of weapons and use of false documents in RJ

The PF (Federal Police) launched, on the morning of this Friday (29), an operation aimed at the illegal purchase of firearms and ammunition using false documents in Rio de Janeiro.

The search and seizure warrants are carried out at three addresses in the capital, suspected of being linked to the person being investigated and the company he manages.

The action, called Operation Fallax, is carried out by agents from the Police Station for the Repression of Crimes against Property and Arms Trafficking, who found that the target used false documentation to buy ammunition and negotiate weapons in commercial establishments in Rio.

According to investigations, the use of CRAFs (Firearm Registration Certificates) with divergent or non-existent data in official systems was identified.

In addition, the presentation of possession of a firearm, term of caution, functional license and other allegedly false documents related to the person being investigated were also investigated. Payments linked to the investigated purchases were also found, which, according to the police, were made through a legal entity managed by the man.

The person being investigated presented himself as a Judicial Police agent, including using a functional card, badges and other identification elements to appear legitimate.

The PF reported that the data collected by the investigation pointed to the fraudulent use of documents attributed to the STM (Superior Military Court), with no correspondence in the Court's official records.

The person being investigated may be held liable for forgery of a public document and use of a false document, in addition to other crimes that may arise during the investigation, especially those provided for in the Disarmament Statute.
