Petrobras announces adjustment in gasoline prices

Petrobras announced this Thursday (28) a new adjustment in the prices of gasoline A for distributors, of R$0.48 per liter. The company also informed that it will offer a discount of R$0.44 per liter - so the effective increase will be R$0.04 per liter.
The discount offered by Petrobras takes place within the scope of the decree signed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) last Monday (25), which established a subsidy of R$0.44 per liter of gasoline.
The measure lasts two months and seeks to contain the effects of rising fuel prices, caused by the increase in oil on the international market amid the war in the Middle East.
The subsidy will be paid directly to gasoline producers and importers, through the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP).
According to the company, Petrobras' share in the final price charged to consumers will be R$1.83 per liter.
"Considering that gasoline C sold at stations is obtained from the mandatory mixture of 70% gasoline A and 30% anhydrous ethanol, Petrobras' share in the final price will increase from the current R$ 1.80 to R$ 1.83 per liter, a residual increase of a maximum of R$ 0.03 for each liter of gasoline C sold at the pumps", the company said in a note.
