Pastor Márcio Pôncio is arrested in an operation in Rio
The arrest of pastor Márcio Poncio by the Federal Police, this Thursday (2), once again put the spotlight on the Poncio family, known nationally for exposing their routine on social media and for bringing together influencers, businessmen and politicians.
The other members of the family, however, are not the target of the Federal Police investigation. The PF's investigation focuses on Márcio Poncio, arrested in the fifth phase of Operation Nail and Flesh, which investigates an alleged money laundering scheme linked to the group of bicheiro Adilsinho, appointed as head of the so-called "Cigarette Mafia".

On social media, Márcio introduces himself as "patriarch of the Poncio family". Pastor of Igreja da Nuvem and businessman, he gained notoriety for exposing his family life and has more than 500 thousand followers, where he usually shares his daily life and responds to criticism directed at the clan. Before his religious work, he built his career in the tobacco sector, which earned him the nickname "cigarette pastor". He also ran for political office in recent years.
This Thursday (2), he was arrested by the Federal Police during the fifth phase of Operation Nail and Flesh. According to the investigation, he is suspected of being linked to a money laundering scheme related to the so-called "Cigarette Mafia".
