Paraguay confirms place in the knockout stages of the World Cup and will have a quarry in the second phase

Paraguay is qualified for the knockout stages of the 2026 World Cup. The South American country's place was guaranteed after the final round of group H of the competition, which took place this Friday (26).

After the end of group D, the Paraguayan team finished in third place overall, with four points, in a campaign of one victory, one draw and one defeat. In the third-place ranking, Albirroja has the fourth best campaign, behind only Sweden, Ecuador and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With the current results, Paraguay can no longer be overtaken by five other teams and, therefore, will remain among the eight best third-placed teams in the World Cup regardless of the next matches.

Now, coach Gustavo Alfaro's men will face Germany in the round of 16 stage. The clash takes place next Monday (29), at 5:30 pm (Brasília time), at Gillette Stadium, in Boston.
