Paid version of Instagram arrives in Brazil; see price and news

Instagram Plus, the paid version of the social network, was launched in Brazil this Thursday (4) by Meta. Subscription allows premium users additional customization features and access to more metrics than free accounts.

The tool arrives in the country at a cost of R$10 per month and is the company's first social network to have a subscription variant. Facebook and WhatsApp are expected to receive similar updates soon.

The tools were being tested on the platforms and, according to a note sent to CNN Brasil previously, "the tests were positive, so Meta is excited to start rolling out Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus, which will be available globally soon."

In the subscriber version, the focus is on giving more control over Stories and profile customization.

Users will be able to view other people's temporary photos anonymously, have access to statistics on their publications to find out who rewatched their content; increase the duration of Stories beyond the traditional 24 hours; and create personalized audience lists that go beyond the "Close Friends" limit.

On their profile, Plus subscribers can add custom fonts to their biography, new icons for the application, exclusive "Super Hearts" reactions and the ability to pin more than three posts to the top of their profile.

Meta stated that users of the free version will not suffer any losses with the launch of the new version.
