In a press conference last Friday (26), Michele Kang, new owner of Lyon, spoke publicly for the first time about the relationship with Botafogo. The owner of the French club acknowledged the complexity of the negotiations, but stated that the Rio club owes money to Lyon.

"Once decisions are made about the future of Botafogo, I'm sure we will have the opportunity to talk," Michele said at the press conference.

The owner of the French club reinforced that she will wait for the entire process to be completed before conversations can begin.

"It's very complex, difficult to explain in a few seconds. I think we would like to wait for the whole process to be finalized and we look forward to talking to the new owner."

Botafogo and Lyon
Negotiations for the sale to Lyon took place simultaneously with negotiations by GDA (led by investor Gabriel de Alba) for the purchase of SAF Botafogo. The change of command at the French club changes the scenario a little in relation to a possible agreement with the Rio club.

The Rio club believes it has to receive an amount from the French club, which, in turn, believes it has R$727 million to receive from Botafogo. Still under Textor's command, the black and white SAF charged R$745 million from the French.
