Our fight is not over, says Netanyahu after US and Iran sign peace deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday (15) that Israel's fight "is not over" and that the country will continue to "neutralize threats" after the United States and Iran signed a peace agreement to put an end to the war in the Middle East.

In a speech that is at odds with the current phase of negotiations between the US and Iran, Netanyahu said his Army will continue in "security zones" already established in the Middle East - a possible reference to the occupation in southern Lebanon amid the war against Hezbollah - and that it will preserve freedom of action to stop attacks by the Lebanese terrorist group.
Netanyahu's speech comes hours after the US and Iran signed a electronically reached a peace agreement in the war that the two countries had been fighting since the end of February. The document, which will be made official on Friday with an in-person signature in Switzerland, provides for the end of fighting, the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and for US allies - such as Israel - to no longer attack Iranian territory.
