Osmar Stabile comments on security contracts and counters criticism of Corinthians' spending

The president of Corinthians, Osmar Stabile, once again addressed the recent controversies involving security contracts signed by the club. In an interview with TMC's Papo de Craque 2º Tempo program, the president commented on the agreements with the companies Bear Security and Mega Assessoria Operacional Ltda., which have been questioned behind the scenes at Parque São Jorge.

The hires gained repercussion after information about the services provided by the companies to Corinthians. One of the cases even resulted in a request for impeachment against Stabile, which is under analysis by the club's Ethics Committee.

During the interview, the president defended the maintenance of the security service used by the presidency and stated that the hiring is related to the position held and not to him.

"Corinthians doesn't pay for Osmar Stabile, it pays for the president of Corinthians. Due to everything that has happened at Corinthians, there is this need for the president to be taken care of so that nothing worse happens. There's no point in seeing later, we have to see first. The president needs security, yes, and I'm afraid something will happen."

Afterwards, Stabile explained the reasons for keeping the company responsible for the service and highlighted the importance of a relationship of trust with the professionals involved.

"This security is VIP. The president chooses whoever he wants to be his security guard. These people are trustworthy, so I understood that I should continue with this company and I will continue."

When commenting on the situation at Bear Security, the director stated that the company operates regularly and reinforced that the service is linked to the role performed by the club's president.

"The company is regular. It is providing services for the president of Corinthians, not for Osmar Stabile. To do this, you need to have people the president trusts to go out at night, go to negotiations..."

The president also clarified which expenses are covered by the club and which are his personal responsibility.

"Corinthians pays for the president's security. I pay for food, fuel... Corinthians pays for the security part."

Another topic discussed was the hiring of Mega Assessoria Operacional Ltda. When recalling the episode, Stabile stated that he delegated responsibilities to members of the administration to assist in the conduct of the club's activities.

"I gave authorization to Fernando (José da Silva) and the person who wrote the document was Romeu Tuma Júnior. I made him, Pantaleão (then legal director) and Marcelo Munhoz (technology director), three people that I put to help me, in addition to the president of the Board. I signed the three documents at his request (Romeu Tuma Júnior)."

The statements come amid the internal debate about the administrative management of Corinthians and questions involving contracts signed by the current presidency. The case continues to be monitored by the club's internal bodies.
