Operation arrests four suspected members of the Red Command in Bahia

Four people suspected of being part of the criminal faction Comando Vermelho were arrested this Friday morning (10), during Operation Maré Vermelha, launched by the Civil Police of Bahia. The action complied with warrants in the cities of Salvador, Lauro de Freitas, Feira de Santana and São Francisco do Conde.

In total, four temporary arrest warrants and four search and seizure warrants were served. According to the police, the arrests took place in the neighborhoods of Sussuarana and Portão, in addition to the municipalities of Feira de Santana and São Francisco do Conde.

During the operation, four cell phones were also seized, which will be subjected to forensic examination to help advance the investigation.

According to the Civil Police, the suspects are being investigated for involvement in drug trafficking, homicides and other crimes committed in the São Francisco do Conde region.
The operation was coordinated by Denarc (Specialized Department of Investigation and Repression of Drug Trafficking) and aimed to reduce the rates of Intentional Lethal Violent Crimes (CVLIs) in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador.

The corporation reported that investigations continue to identify and locate other leaders of the criminal organization.
