After recording strong increases in recent sessions, Arabica coffee futures ended this Thursday's session (02) with falls on the New York Stock Exchange.

The contract for coffee delivery in September registered a drop of 2.81% and closed at U$S 3.01 per pound.

According to Barchart, coffee prices fell from their nearly five-month highs recorded this session and closed in opposite directions.

"Arabica coffee erased gains and closed under pressure from profit taking and liquidation of long positions before the long holiday, with American markets closed on Friday", he reported.

Cocoa

The cocoa contract for delivery in September closed down 1.10% and closed at US$5,092 per ton on the New York Stock Exchange.

According to Barchart, cocoa prices closed lower on Thursday amid some pre-weekend sell-off and position adjustment as US markets will be closed on Friday for a holiday.

Sugar

On the New York Stock Exchange, the sugar futures contract for delivery in October ended the session priced at 14.85 cents per pound, with a drop of 0.93%.

Cotton

In the case of cotton, the futures contract for delivery in December closed with a drop of 0.92% and priced at 77.12 cents per pound.

Barchart pointed out that the market is liquidating positions with the Independence Day holiday, this Friday (03), providing a three-day long weekend.

In addition, the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) export sales report showed that 49 thousand barrels of cotton for the 2025/26 harvest were sold in the week of 06/25.

Orange Juice

The future expiration date for orange juice for delivery in September ended with a devaluation of 0.29%, with the contract closing at US$ 1.71 per pound.
