On the eve of Brazil's debut, Militão talks about his absence from the World Cup

On the eve of the Brazilian team's debut at the 2026 World Cup, Éder Militão spoke out about his absence from the tournament. Out of the World Cup after suffering a serious injury to his left thigh, the defender published a message on social media this Thursday (11).

"Every time you get up, you believe that this time will be different. In football, things don't always go as planned. But some shirts are forever. Even when you can't wear them anymore," the player wrote.

Militão also stated that he will follow Brazil's campaign as a fan.

"For me, this time is the time to play from home. Because this shirt is not just worn by 11 players on the field. But by millions. And today, tomorrow and always I will be one of them", he added.

The Real Madrid defender had his participation in the World Cup ruled out after a consultation with specialists in Finland confirmed the seriousness of the injury suffered during a match against Alavés, in the Spanish Championship. The assessment indicated a risk of total rupture of the tendon, and the athlete underwent surgery.

The publication takes place in the last few days before the Brazilian team's debut at the World Cup, against Morocco, and marks Militão's first public demonstration about the frustration of being left out of the competition.

At 28 years old, the defender played in the 2022 World Cup and had been considered one of the main options for the Brazilian defensive system before his injury. Now, follow the team's progress from abroad, as they recover to return to the pitch in the coming months.
