Last Wednesday (8), striker Yuri Alberto completed four years playing for Corinthians. Announced on July 8, 2022, the center forward was introduced to Corinthians fans in an open training session held at the Neo Química Arena that day. The number 9 made his debut for the club on July 20 of that year, in the 3 x 1 victory over Coritiba, in Itaquera.
On his social networks, Yuri Alberto celebrated the milestone reached: "It's been four years wearing the Timão shirt". In material sent by his advisor, the player, one of Timão's main highlights in recent seasons, spoke about the achievement: "Completing four years wearing this shirt is a huge source of pride for me. It plays a movie in my head of everything I've experienced here, the victories, the goals scored in the Arena and, above all, the tireless support of the fans, who have always been by my side. I am extremely grateful to Corinthians, the board, my teammates and every faithful member for everything we have built so far. here. Yuri Alberto arrived at Corinthians in mid-2022, initially on loan from Zenit, in Russia. At the beginning of 2023, he was signed permanently in a negotiation that involved five players - Ivan, Robert Renan, Du Queiroz, Gustavo Mantuan and Pedrinho. Since then, there have been 82 goals and 23 assists in 236 games (202 as a starter), with 105 wins, 61 draws and 70 defeats - 53.11% success rate.
He is the top scorer in the history of the Neo Química Arena, opened in 2014, with 51 goals. Furthermore, Yuri Alberto is also the team's top scorer in the 21st century. In 2024, he enjoyed his best-scoring season of his career, with 31 goals scored - 15 of them in the Brasileirão, in which he was the top scorer and fundamental in the team's rise (from Z4 to Pre-Libertadores).
Last year, he played a decisive role in winning the Campeonato Paulista (2025) and Copa do Brasil (2025), over Palmeiras and Flamengo, respectively, scoring goals in both finals. At the beginning of 2026, he left his mark against Flamengo in the Brazilian Super Cup.
Officially, Timão will return to action on July 23rd, at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), in Itaquera, at the end of the first round of the Brazilian Championship. Currently, Corinthians is in tenth place in the national tournament with 24 points - six wins, six draws and six defeats - 18 goals scored and 19 conceded.
On July 12th, Alvinegro will play a friendly against FC Cascavel, in Paraná, in a preparatory duel for the interseason. In addition to the Brasileirão, the Parque São Jorge club will also have disputes in the round of 16 of the Conmebol Libertadores and Copa do Brasil, against Rosário Central, from Argentina, and Internacional, in August.
