Olivia Wilde says that a sentence from her ex-husband ended their marriage
Actress Olivia Wilde, 42, detailed the moment she decided to separate from actor Jason Sudeikis, 50, known for his work on the series "Ted Lasso".
The artist stated that she was already going through a difficult time in her relationship when she asked what she would get for her then-husband's birthday.
"What would I buy you, Olivia? I don't know you," the star reportedly said, according to the actress's account on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast.
The moment was decisive for Olivia Wilde to decide to put an end to the relationship. "He wasn't wrong. We didn't know each other anymore," he commented.
The director continued: "You can reach a point in a relationship where you stop being involved in discovering the other person, you lose curiosity about who that person is, and you end up thinking, 'I don't even know you.'
Legal dispute
Olivia and Jason were involved in a legal dispute in 2020 over the custody of their children, Otis, aged 12, and Daisy, aged 9. Both guaranteed the right to shared custody of their heirs, in a process that dragged on for 3 years in the courts.
The actress faced a difficult moment when she received subpoena papers regarding the process during a presentation of the film "Don't Worry, Dear", in 2022, one of her films in which she served as director.
She opened the document in front of other people and felt it was "one of the most absurd things" she had ever experienced. "I just fell apart," he declared.
On the podcast, Wilde said that she formed a friendship with her ex-husband, who in turn assured that he did not know when she would receive the subpoena. She, however, does not know to this day whether the movement was premeditated.
