Singer Oliver Tree's family has confirmed that the artist's body has been officially returned to the United States following his tragic death in Brazil. Oliver Tree Nickell, known for hits such as "Miss You", died on June 14 in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, which killed five other people. Brazilian authorities continue to investigate the causes of the accident that shook fans and colleagues.
The identification of Oliver Tree's body was carried out using dental x-rays, as reported by the Brazilian newspaper O Globo. Now, with the confirmation of the arrival of his remains in California, the family released an emotional statement on social media, accompanied by a series of photos that depict moments from the singer's life. They expressed gratitude for the support received: "His legacy will live on forever. We are grateful to everyone who has shown love, support and paid incredible tributes to Oliver. This constant care is helping family, friends and collaborators get through this difficult time."
In addition to the return of the body, the family announced the launch of a charitable foundation in honor of the artist, called Dr Oliver Tree's Extremely Epic Grant For Baby Geniuses. According to the official statement, this initiative had already been planned by Oliver before his death and is included in his will. The foundation's objective is to perpetuate the singer's desire to spread more joy, love and art around the world, continuing the positive impact he has always sought to promote.
Oliver Tree was 32 years old and was among the six fatal victims of the plane crash, which also killed passengers Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim and Lucas Brito Chaves, as well as pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac. Reports indicate that five of the victims were in a helicopter, while the other pilot was in a second aircraft, and the two machines collided in the air.
