Oliver Tree: IML collects genetic material to identify singer's body
Experts from the Instituto Médico-Legal (IML) Afrânio Peixoto, in the center of Rio de Janeiro, collected material for genetic comparison with the aim of identifying the last foreign victim whose identity has not yet been officially confirmed: the North-American singer Oliver Tree.
Six people died after the collision between two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro, which occurred last Sunday (14).
According to the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, so far, the bodies of Brazilians Lucas Brito, Charles Marsillac and Alexandre Souza, as well as Argentines Gaspar Prim and Lucas Vignale, have been identified. Thus, the only victim still pending confirmation is the singer.
The agency reported that the investigation is still ongoing at the 42nd DP (Recreio dos Bandeirantes). The expertise awaits the report from the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa), which will help determine the causes of the aircraft crash.
Who was Oliver Tree?
American singer Oliver Tree, aged 32, is among the six fatal victims of the accident with two helicopters that left six people dead in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday morning (14).
Oliver Tree has almost 20 million followers on social media and was in Rio de Janeiro in the middle of a world tour. On June 6th, he performed a show in São Paulo and would perform his first show on the European stage in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 1st.
The artist has more than 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has songs with more than 700 million plays, such as "Life Goes On" and "Miss You".

Of the six fatal victims, five were in a helicopter and only the pilot was in the other aircraft.
