Oliver Tree detailed will before he died: 'Not a penny for my family'

In an interview given less than two months before his death, American musician Oliver Tree revealed that he made the decision not to leave his fortune to family members.
The artist detailed the plan on April 24 of this year, during his participation in the Zach Sang Show videocast.
"I don't believe that any wealth or anything generated by it is mine. I've already made it clear in my will that, when I die, no one in my family will receive a penny, nothing", said the singer at the time.
According to Tree's statement, all the assets accumulated throughout his career will be transferred to a philanthropic institution created by him:
"The idea is that, when If I die, all the money goes back to the artists. I created a foundation, it's called Dr. Oliver Tree's Art Grants for Young Geniuses. It was structured so that, basically, the interest generated by my music will be the main source of funding," he explained.

During the conversation, the musician also reflected on the appreciation of his work after his death.
"When I die, people will finally appreciate my stupid videos, my stupid songs. That's when people learn to appreciate. Normally, artists are worth more when they die", declared Tree.
The singer concluded his reasoning by mentioning the possibility of a sudden departure. "People never know when my last album is. I could die at any moment. I could have died coming here", he said at the time.

The musician was one of the six victims fatal accidents in the collision between two helicopters that occurred in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday (14).
The artists confirmed their relationship in 2019. Even after the end of the relationship, in 2021, they maintained a friendly public relationship.
In a long text, Martinez expressed the strong impact of the loss of her ex-boyfriend.
"He was so dedicated to his art, something I deeply admired and respected. I think everyone who knew him will look back and remember those moments of laughter and joy that he sparked so easily. His laugh was contagious and warm."

In the text, Martinez also highlighted his ex-boyfriend's creative personality and the musician's ability to maintain spontaneity in his career.
"His ability to lead creatively and act, while also maintaining a sense of wonder and childlike wonder, was very inspiring. He had such a soft heart and was a true artist in every way," he said.
The publication ended with a direct message to the singer.
"Rest in peace, Oliver. I know you're making the angels giggle. I'll be here wondering what stunt and creative project you're up to in heaven. All my love", he concluded.

Who was Oliver Tree
Born in Santa Cruz, California, in 1993, Tree was known both for his music and for the eccentric persona he built throughout his career: caricatured looks, exaggerated clothes and haircuts, and shows that mix comedy, fake reality shows and even fighting.
Today he has around 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 2 millions of followers on Instagram. He has collaborated with names like Marshmello, David Guetta, Little Big, KSI and BoyWithUke.
He started out as a teenager with independent singles, but the turning point came in 2017, when the single "When I'm Down" went viral.
