"Nude scam": prisoners used names of SP delegates for extortion

"Operation Phanton", launched this Wednesday (21), targeted a criminal organization that practiced the "nude scam", using the names of delegates from the São Paulo Civil Police to extort victims in Santa Cruz do Sul, in the Central region of Rio Grande do Sul.

13 arrest warrants were served. Among the targets, 11 committed the crimes inside the Santa Cruz do Sul Regional Prison, where they were already detained.

Investigations carried out by the general investigations sector of the city of Carapicuíba, in Greater São Paulo, identified that the victims were extorted by criminals, believing that they were speaking to authorities.

CNN Brasil found that the height of the crimes was the practice of a series of frauds using the names of delegates from the São Paulo corporation, including that of the general delegate, Artur Dian.

The action, focused on combating fraud crimes, was initiated by the Civil Police of the State of São Paulo, in partnership with the Civil Police of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, through the DRACO and 2nd Regional Police Station. Santa Cruz do Sul PD.
