Bahrain's armed forces said they intercepted new attacks from Iran

The Bahraini Army stated, on Thursday morning (9), that it had intercepted several of Iran's air strikes.

Iran's military says it has hit US Patriot defense systems in Kuwait, a satellite antenna in Qatar and a US Army fuel depot in Bahrain with drones, state media reports.

The IRGC (Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) said the attacks came in response to the latest wave of US attacks, in a statement carried by state broadcaster IRIB.

According to the IRGC, its targets were the Shaikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and the Juffair district, home to the Naval Support Activity - the main US Navy base in the Persian Gulf, home to the US Fifth Fleet.

New US offensive
The US military concluded the latest round of attacks against Iran, hitting approximately 90 military targets, CENTCOM (US Central Command) reported in the early hours of Thursday.

"US forces struck approximately 90 Iranian military targets, including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran's coast. The latest strikes follow the successful execution of offensive strikes in Iran the night before," CENTCOM wrote in a post on social media site X.

The US Army said the strikes were aimed at "further reducing Iran's ability to attack commercial ships and innocent civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz."

Iran's Ministry of Health reported on Thursday that 14 people had died and 78 were injured in the last two days in attacks by the United States.
