The organization responsible for the Emmy Awards, an international award considered the most prestigious in North American television, will announce this Wednesday afternoon (8) the nominees for the 78th edition of the award.


Annually, the institution recognizes the best productions released on TV and streaming in the past year. For the 2026 ceremony, the North American magazine Variety is betting that "Pluribus", starring Rhea Seehorn, and the acclaimed second season of HBO's "The Pitt", should lead the nominations ranking.


Eschewing dramatic narratives, the comedy series "Hacks" is also one of the portal's main bets, which would make it the most successful comedy series in the industry, surpassing "Schitt's Creek" (2020).

In 2025, surprising the public and the actors, the organization chose to consecrate series such as "Adolescence" and the first season of "The Pitt", displacing productions with the biggest nominations, such as "Ruptura", with 27 nominations, and "Pinguim", with 24.


This year, the Emmy Awards will feature a historic milestone: for the first time in 15 years, the awards ceremony will be hosted by a woman. Mariska Hargitay, 62, will be responsible for taking command of the program scheduled to take place on the night of September 14th, at 9pm (Brasília time).


All nominees will be announced through a live broadcast that takes place on the award's official YouTube channel, the Television Academy. To follow, just access the live below from 12:30 pm (Brasília time).
