PF names family nucleus in billion-dollar PCC money laundering scheme

A Federal Court decision obtained by CNN reveals that the Federal Police identified a family nucleus in the organization being investigated on suspicion of laundering money from international drug trafficking and the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). According to the document, businessman Victor Henrique de Oliveira Shimada, identified as one of the leaders of the scheme, relied on his uncle and cousin to act in roles considered strategic for the movement of illicit resources.

According to the decision, Amauri Henrique de Oliveira is appointed by the PF as responsible for receiving, transporting and delivering cash at the behest of Victor Shimada. Investigators state that he performed an "essential and usual" role in the operational chain of the criminal organization being investigated.

The document also clarifies the family ties between those investigated. According to the Federal Police, Amauri is Victor Shimada's maternal uncle, as he is the brother of Geny Prussiano de Oliveira, the businessman's mother. The information, according to the decision, was confirmed by consultations with the Federal Police's own databases.
